The latest audio-visual collaboration with musician Euseng Seto for KaleidoSoup, an international meeting of VJs with a series of video art performances held annually in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is the first visual arts playground of its kind in Southeast Asia.
For this piece, I wanted to explore the process of creating live visuals, rather than the aesthetics of its content. I began by creating an analogue video loop by generating video feedback of a rotating plate filled with reflective materials like water, mirrors, and prisms, set against a monitor and other light emitting devices. Once the loop is set, the content is streamed onto the computer, where it is modified and composed to produce a different set of visuals with the use of VJ and mapping softwares.
